I am voting for the families who don’t know where their next meal is coming from.

I am voting for all the grandmas who risk death just to get a hug.

I am voting for all the children with two moms or two dads who may lose legal protections.

I am voting for the salt of the Earth Americans who deserve to stop being peddled lies, used as pawns for billionaire gain.

I am voting for Black people who deserve to move freely through their day without fear of deadly force by those paid with their very own tax dollars to protect and serve them.

I am voting for the Dreamers who want only to be able to grow up in the country in which they were raised and have a shot at a decent future.

I am voting for the 13-year-old girl who was raped by her uncle.

I am voting for the person living with diabetes in Ohio who can’t afford insulin.

I am voting for the transgender kid who fears getting turned away by a doctor or hospital.

I am voting for the kid in foster care who may not get a home or family because of the so-called religious beliefs of the agency.

I am voting for the man with asthma who is desperate not to catch COVID or smoke inhalation from the fires in California, Colorado.

I am voting for the farmers in Iowa who are threatened by China trade tariffs and drought.

I am voting for the electricians and teachers and factory workers who are losing their power as collectives to fight for fair wages and protections.

I am voting for soldiers who deserve a sane and humane leader when they put their lives on the line.

I am voting for my child so that he may have a chance to grow up in a world that is not plagued by fires and floods, war and famine, fascism and frailty.

I am voting for your children too.

I am voting for the guy who worked hard his whole life and may not get social security.

I am voting to restore truth and integrity.

I am voting for democracy.

I am voting for diplomacy and compassion over violence.

I am voting for the baby who was ripped from his mother at the border and may never find her again.

I am voting for the 140 million Americans with preexisting conditions.

I am voting for the air that we breathe, the food that we eat, the roads we drive on and the bridges we cross.

I am voting for myself as well, yes.

But I am voting for us all. I am voting for country over party. I am voting for hope over fear.

What are you voting for?
